The Table Story

So this is a pretty good story involving the lengths to which Bull Moose participants will go to avoid a rules violation. In order to keep any non-participants nameless, I'm going to be pretty vague with the details and just give the gist of the action.

We're at a bar (shocking) and Metzler, Jared, and Miller are sitting around talking and shooting the shit. We notice a fellow student but non-participant who has been overserved stumbling around the bar. The sloppy student then began to participate in a conversation with a group of people standing behind Metzler. I saw the whole thing happen. The student's legs started to wabble and then the student made a slow grasp for Metzler's left shoulder. The student was falling. It wasn't a graceful landing, as the student crushed a table and made a bit of an awkward scene upon yelling, "Nice Job, Metz" after getting up. Clearly this was not Metzler's fault; he was not able to stop the fall... without violating the Bull Moose rules. He could have grabbed the falling student with his left hand, but he would have had to switch his drink to his right hand and would have thus violated the rules. Although this all happened very quickly, Metzler confessed to thinking about the implications of his drink-hand switch and deciding that he was not willing to risk the violation.

That's dedication, homes.
